1. LET GO OF TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

To start loving yourself you have to let go of all your toxic relationships. Don't be afraid to leave toxic people in your life. You don't have to make room for people who cause you pain or make you feel small or miserable. 
If a person disregards your feelings, ignores your boundaries, and "continues" to treat you in a noxious way, they need to go.
These people will hold you back and not let you grow and shine.

2. READ A GOOD BOOK

Now that you are rid of toxic people, you have to develop self-love by doing things that can increase your self-esteem. Reading a good book can be really helpful. It helps you relax and destress.
Reading is proved to be as effective as therapy to a lot of people. It puts your mind in a state similar to meditating. It brings deep relaxation and inner peace. You can start by reading as little as 15-20 pages every day.

You can also listen to music or even watch light-hearted web series, but I personally feel reading is much better.



3. WEAR YOUR FAVOURITE OUTFIT

Learning self-love is actually very easy. Remember to be confident in what you do. Wearing your favorite outfit can help you develop self-love. Remember to just be yourself and be assertive in what you are wearing. You can just hang around in your beautiful outfit or just read a book in your comfy pajamas. Wear what YOU like. Buy more of those clothes which bring a smile to your face or make you happy from within.

4. STOP WORRYING ABOUT OTHERS OPINIONS

Once you develop the habit of not worrying about what others think of you, you already get a few steps ahead on your path to attain self-love. Just stop worrying about what others think of your messy hair or your body. This is one of the major things that hold people back from doing what they like. I always believe that 'IF IT MAKES YOU HAPPY, IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MAKE SENSE TO OTHERS'. People will keep judging you till the day you die, just forget them and do what you like. 


5. ALLOW YOURSELF TO MAKE MISTAKES

Don't be harsh on yourself. You have to accept that we all make mistakes and it is natural to make mistakes. You have to stop being mad at yourself for making one. Instead, you need to learn from them. Even if you are learning slowly, it's fine. Always remember, two steps forward and one step back, is still a step forward.

Remember the place whose sounds or visuals made you feel light and happy? Yes, that's your happy place. Try to spend more time there. It could be your own room, a garden, your friend's house or even your kitchen. You have to look for it and start finding happiness in it. Once you realize the value of spending time in your happy place, you will automatically start loving yourself more. Your body will be happy not only physically, but also mentally.

7. TAKE OUT TIME FOR YOURSELF

I believe that this is one of the most important ways of practicing self-love and I cannot stress more on it. You have to spend time with yourself. You can clean your room or organize your workplace. Try spending some quality time with yourself in the morning without technology and tell me your experience. I guarantee you will feel a lot more fresh than earlier. You can meditate or try some mind healing activities to relax your mind. You have to start taking efforts for yourself. 
But, don't cut out yourself and stop socializing with people. You do have to stay in touch with your friends and family. Make sure you spend quality time with yourself.
